Thomas Verbal

Thomas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Design from ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design and Engineering, a Master’s degree in Visual Sociology at Goldsmiths University of London and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCEi) at the University of Nottingham.

As graphic designer, Thomas is specialised in the areas of editorial (printed and digital publications), audio-visual and innovation design. Thomas has worked in collaboration with the Municipality of Barcelona, the Barcelona Design Museum, NGO Refugee Youth in London, CGTN, and more recently as freelancer for environmental projects with Greenpact Design and Engineering S.L. As educator in China, Thomas has taught Art and Design for three years in the High School of Beijing International Studies University.

In 2021, Thomas joined BACA as Graphic Design teacherto teach research methods, design fundamentals and tutorise students interested in studying Graphic and Media Design, Interaction and User Experience Design among other design fields.

With his students, Thomas believes in self-expression and collaborative learning, enabling them to get enough self-confidence and skills to expand their limits and work as professional design-thinkers. In this international context, Thomas’ teaching methods assure a progressive transition towards UK education.
