Liam Yeates

Liam holds a PGCE in teaching Fine Art from the University of Greenwich, London, a Masters’ and a Degree in Visual Performance, from Dartington college of Arts.

As well as spending his initial teacher training year at UAL, Wimbledon College of Arts’ Foundation course, Liam also taught Art and Design at Southwark College and Lewisham College in London. Having worked in further as well as adult education, Liam brings over twelve years’ worth of experience as an arts and design educator.

Liam joined the BACA A level team in 2019, initially as a Fine Art tutor. Previous to his time at BACA he has acquired a well-rounded, practical and theoretical skillset working within Arts communities, business co-operations and charity organizations. Liam brings an in-depth industry insight into his classroom practice at BACA.

Liam has been a practicing artist for over 30 years. Working within different mediums, such as drawing, painting, installation, sculpture, video and performance art. His approach to teaching Fine Art encourages the student to have an open-minded attitude whilst questioning their creative process. This sits alongside that of the BACA A-level creative ethos.

About Liam Yeates
Apart from being an arts educator Liam is also passionate about exploring social and geographic environments. From walking through urban landscapes to discovering new and far away vistas, he documents and creates artworks, which reflect his travels. And when not teaching or exploring you can always find Liam training his Northern and Southern style Kung fu, in the parks of Beijing.
